Lindenwold PD Establishes Internet Purchase Safe Exchange Location

The Lindenwold Police Department has created a “safe zone” in hopes of eliminating risks in the sometimes murky world of internet-driven sales transactions.

Internet marketplaces such as Craigslist, OfferUp, Letgo or Facebook Marketplace offer numerous opportunities for individuals to find any number of items available for purchase. When conducting business via the internet, however, people often don’t know whom they’re dealing with, and the physical transaction of money for goods can be a dangerous proposition.

That’s why the Lindenwold Police Department has established an “Internet Purchase Exchange Location” in the parking lot right outside the front doors of the Police Department located at 2001 Egg Harbor Road, Lindenwold, NJ 08021.

The area in front of the building is designated by a small green sign and provides a place where people can make transactions in an area that’s frequently crowded, that’s within steps of the Lindenwold Police Department and which is under 24-hour video surveillance.
